LogicThe first selected list of references on Indian logic appeared in Bibliography of Indian Philosophies (1970), the opening volume of the The Encyclopedya of Indian Philosophies compiled by Karl K. Potter. The volume considers philosophical systems and Indian philosophy in general, including Grammarian philosophy, in three sections: texts and authors whose dates are known; texts whose authors’ dates are unknown; secondary literature. A significant number of references are devoted to Nyāya-Vaiśeṣika tradition, and schools of Buddhism and Jainism. From 1972 to 1978 supplements of the Bibliography were published in the Journal of Indian Philosophy, founded by Bimal Krishna Matilal. All the citations in Indian Metaphysics and Epistemology: The Tradition of Nyāya-Vaiśeṣika up to Gaṅgeśa (1977), edited by Karl H. Potter, and Indian Philosophical Analysis: Nyāya-Vaiśeṣika from Gaṅgeśa to Raghunātha Śiromaṇi (1993), edited Karl H. Potter and Sibajiban Bhattacharya. which appeared as II and VI volume of The Encyclopedya of Indian Philosophies respectively, make constant references to the Bibliography.
